"Operation Double C" Begins December 1st!

Hi, my name is Marissa. My mom and I are your typical "foodies". But not only do we enjoy eating (I mean... who doesn't), we love to bake. Every holiday season, we whip up our signature Christmas cookies which we serve on Christmas day and deliver to our friends and family. This year is my senior year of high school and my mom is getting super sentimental. As a way to celebrate my graduating in the spring and to make lasting memories before I embark on my journey to college, we have decided to do what I like to call "operation double c". Now if you haven't already guessed what double c stands for I'll clue you in... Christmas cookies!! Here is our plan: Bake some of our (as my mom likes to call them) "tried and true" cookies and test new cookie recipes that we have researched and given the seal of approval. In order to accumulate 24 different kinds of cookies by Christmas day, we plan to make a different type of cookie a day. Now, this will probably be a pretty big challenge for me and my mom but we plan to stick with our plan until the night Santa's coming down the chimney (December 24). We have organized it pretty well so that we can balance baking daily with my crazy high school senior schedule and her working mama schedule but it should be very interesting to see how it pans out. I plan to post about each and every cookie, each and every night so look out for professional photographs taken by me (so not very professional at all) and the recipe for each cookie. I am so thrilled to start this adventure with my mama (her name is Jolly, by the way, so if I say Jolls or Jolly sometime don't think I am talking about the candy, Jolly Ranchers, or something) and make more wonderful memories in the kitchen with her. Stay tuned for lots of interesting, possibly comedic stories, scrumptious cookies, and unforgettable memories.  By the way, baking begins on December 1st so get excited! I know I am!
